ACCEPTING SEALED BIDS

The Village of Hammondsport is requesting a Sealed bid for Refuse and Recycling Services collection Services. Bid form and specifications are available in the Village Clerk’s Office, 18 Water St., Hammondsport or on the Village website:

Bids will be accepted until 4PM, Tuesday November 12, 2013.
Bids will be opened publicly at 6PM on November 12.  Bids must be sealed and clearly marked.

The Village Board reserves the right to reject any or all bids

"Parks Day" May 4th, 2013

Saturday, May 4th is “I Love My Parks Day.”
Grape Street Park will reopen and Liberty Park and Champlin Beach will be cleaned up by volunteers.  Contact the Village Office for more info.

Curtiss School Rezoning - Public Hearing

The Public Hearing for Tuesday May 14, 2013 has been cancelled.
A new date will be posted pending Board approval.

Spring Cleaning

SPRING CLEANING 2013

The Village Street Department will pick up brush, leaves, and lawn clippings on Monday May 20, 2013

Leaf and lawn clippings must be in containers no heavier than 50 pounds. No plastic bags.

Tree limbs are to be NO longer than six feet.
Brush and tree limbs are to be bundled.
Only the items listed will be picked up.

All items must be placed at the curb no later than the night of May 22, 2011.

 

Please take notice:  The Steuben County Landfill does not accept yard debris.  Therefore, the Village of Hammondsport’s current Refuse Carrier cannot pick up leaves or yard waste in bags or otherwise.  The Town of Urbana compost located off Route 54 is open every day.

TRASH PICK UP DAY 2013

The Village Street Department will pick up trash Monday June 3, 2013
The Village DPW will be picking up trash at the curb.
All items must be out no later than the night of June 2^nd.
The following items will not be accepted:
Household garbage
Yard debris
Paint & paint thinner
Concrete
Tires
APPLIANCES WILL BE ACCEPTED

New Garbage Hauler for 2013

Hoad Disposal is the new Garbage Hauler contracted with the Village.
Please note the following:

As of March 1, recyclable items need to be separated.

Residential and Commercial Services Available.

2 to 8 yard dumpsters
20 & 30 yard Roll-offs
Residential and weekly trash pick-up
Recycling
Construction Material No Longer Accepted
Acceptable Recycled Items:Mixed Paper

Newspaper, magazines, junk mail, catalogs, etc.

Stack in 12” bundles or in paper bags
Plastic:#1 or #2, clear or colored
Rinse, remove and discard tops
Glass:Clear and green only
Cardboard:Clean, corrugated, paperboard,
Cereal boxes, tissue boxes.
Flatten and pile in bundles no more than
12” high and 36” long or in paper bags.
No waxy surface cardboard or pizza boxes.
Metal Food Cans

Tin and pet food and aluminum beverage.

Clean off food. Labels need not be removed.

UNACCEPTABLE ITEMS:Plastic Bags, Window glass, Light bulbs, Drinking glasses,

Ceramics, China, Pyrex, Aerosol cans, Paint cans,
Pesticide or other chemical containers, Styrofoam trays
Egg cartons, Motor oil containers, Carbon paper,
Plastic wrappers, Crayon marked paper, Tape or labels on cardboard.

Christmas Tree Removal - January 14th

On January 14th the Village will remove Christmas trees.  Please place your tree by the curb for pik up.
